Abstract
The Traders and Farmers Survey 2003 was set up with a questionnaire for the relevant trading participants who were involved in street markets as stallholders (see questionnaire in Appendix 1). The main aim of this survey was to explore the motives, the intentions and the business operations of stallholders in these markets by means of a cluster analysis. Questionnaires were sent to small business people and farmers at markets in Townsville/Thuringowa, Rollingstone, Charters Towers, and the Gold Coast.
