Abstract
[Extract] Appropriately designed fitness tests provide useful information about specific aspects of fitness where it is important to accurately gauge training intensities, monitor progress and identify players strengths and weaknesses. A number of researchers have devised football specific tests, although the intermittent nature of football presents difficulty in accurately determining the demands the game and the assessment of player's fitness to perform at the required level.
