Editorial: in this issue of the Annals

Abstract

[Extract] This January 2011 issue of the Annals of the Australasian College of Tropical Medicine contains a total of 6 articles. The first, an Original Research article, was written by Ronelle E. Welton, Gordon Manub, Kerry Lorry, Reuben Jim and Guma Kayani from Oil Search (PNG) Limited, Department of Medical and Occupational Health, in the Southern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea; and Moses Tepra from the Community Based Health Care section of the Nazarene Church in Mt Hagen, Southern Highlands Province, Papua New Guinea. Their article is titled: 'A malaria program response to an outbreak in a Southern Highlands village, Papua New Guinea'. A Review article titled: 'Chikungunya - An emerging arbovirus infection' was written by Oliver Venettacci, Stephanie Swallow and Richard S. Bradbury from the School of Medicine at the University of Tasmania in Hobart, Australia.' A Review article was written by Hayden L. Farquhar from the School of Public Health, Tropical Medicine and Rehabilitation Sciences at James Cook University in Townsville; and the School of Medicine at the University of Tasmania in Hobart, Australia. It is titled: 'Factors influencing mother-tochild HIV infection - A ten-year update on research in Sub-Saharan Africa.'
