Abstract

[Extract] Although Solomon Islands has a relatively small number of people living with HIV (13 cumulative cases since 1994), the high rates of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), gender inequality, many religious and cultural beliefs and limited health resources in the country all mean that HIV could rapidly spread through the population.
