Abstract
[Extract] It has been interesting times for all us working in rural health care since the beginning of the New Year and the ushering in of the Rudd Labour Government. A new broom has swept clean through the Department of Health and Ageing, and Australian Rural Nurses And Midwives along with many other non-government organisations are awaiting direction as to our role in advising the Australian Government of issues for the largest workforce group in rural Australia.
