Abstract

[Extract] The collection of international research titled "At Home in the Chinese Diaspora: Memories, Identities and Belongings" explores individual and collective memory and the role this plays in identity (re)construction through the lived experiences of Chinese migrants. This book pays particular attention to the local and transnational challenges Chinese migrants face in their everyday lives, how memories are reconstructed, how identity anxieties and conflicts arise, the ways in which social and cultural capital is maintained and built upon, and the impact this has on individuals and communities.
