Abstract

[Extract] This is the second volume of Archaeological Heritage and it coincides with the 30th anniversary of the formation of the Australian Association of Consulting Archaeologists Incorporated. It seemed an appropriate point to republish the brief paper prepared several years ago by founding members Helen Brayshaw and Laila Haglund recalling the Inaugural meeting of MCAI in 1979. This journal provides the ideal avenue to document the history of the consulting profession and its contribution to heritage conservation and archaeology in Australia. Members are invited to submit papers documenting aspects of the history of the Association as well as the development of the consulting field.
