Abstract
[Extract] Lice ingest orally administered compounds, when blood-feeding on their host. Consequently, several oral compounds have been tested regarding their efficacy against head lice infestation. The most promising drug is ivermectin. As oral drugs by definition are not efficacious against head louse eggs, a second dose aiter 8-10 days is generally recommended.
