Abstract

The Mackay/Whitsunday region dared to be different in its implementation of the state based Reconnect trial. This paper discusses trial implementation and the bureaucratic, political, industrial and emotional issues that impacted upon the trail. Threaded throughout the text are the voices of children and young people in care who provided the subtext and driving force behind the trial.
