Abstract

The use of scenario based learning is not new in the teaching of social work. It has been part of the preparation for practice in a number of subjects as an obvious way to facilitate students applying social work theory to practice. This chapter focuses on the use of scenario based learning in teaching Professional Values and Ethics. The following are presented and discussed: the background to Professional Values and Ethics; four scenarios used to explore issues; the facilitation of scenario-based learning; student evaluations; and, teacher perspectives.
